Ahhh, nothing beats the smell of it, freshly roasted in the morning. And that first sip of warm velvety liquid gold that floods our taste buds is an experience in a class of its own. Yes, I’m talking about, you’ve guessed it, coffee!
Coffee is the world’s most traded commodity, second only to petroleum, and it is synonymous with business meetings as well as our daily necessity. It has become so prevalent in the social language that we use terms like “Would you like to catch up over coffee?” or “Let’s discuss this during our coffee break” more than we’d like to admit. And I’ve definitely had my fair share of coffee as a professional, a cup too many sometimes.
So what makes this amazing beverage stands out from the rest and does it really have “supernatural” powers that may boost productivity and make us less tired and more attentive as we work? Let’s find out more.
Just like everything we do or consume in life, too much of it can be bad, harmful even. And the thing that jolts us up and gives us that kick that we need comes from the caffeine in the cup of coffee we drink. Well, does it then affect our productivity in any way, shape, or form? This article dives right into what coffee (or caffeine) does in our body and explains why we crave this drink when there’s a need for a little ‘pick-me-up’
Here’s an interesting article for all the coffee drinkers out there (sorry tea lovers). Most of the points made are quite relevant facts backed up by science and studies, and I’d have to agree with them, especially point number 8. It is not exhaustive and definitely not conclusive, but it is a good read nonetheless.
Quite a scientific-driven feature on why coffee is good for us in the long run. Another reason for us to indulge ourselves is always welcomed I must say. Especially when we need all the positivity and good news coming our way. Have you been eyeing to get that new coffee machine to boost your work-from-home experience or the office? This one's for you.
And what better way to accompany a cup of coffee than with a great story that makes you smile from ear to ear (pancakes works fine too!). This week’s bonus is a real-life account of how Ryan Estis got inspired by a barista in a coffee shop at the airport. Sometimes, we get inspiration from the most unexpected places, and this short video ties up our topic of coffee quite nicely.
With that, grab a cup of nice warm coffee and embrace life to the fullest. Have a great weekend!

As busy professionals, our schedules are often filled to the brim with meetings and tasks to complete. We can get so caught up with work that we might even forget our all-important lunch and power through dinner as well. Alas, we can only do so much given the 24 hours we have in a day. While time management is vital, being productive is another matter in its entirety.Enter time batching.
