Debunking the Myth
Imagine, climbing a huge mountain for decades trying to reach the peak. When you’ve reached the top, the beautiful view you yearn for so long turns out to be nothing like you’ve ever imagined. In a bad way that is.
That, my dear friend, is a midlife crisis.
Since the term “Midlife Crisis” is not an official diagnosis, it is very difficult for researches to study. Researches vary with what constitutes a midlife crisis, as many factors come into play. For many, this is the time where most changes in their lives occur. From the passing of an aged parent to children growing up too fast. Working for a company for decades only to feel regretful of the career path they have chosen.
But is it a real phenomenon or is it just a myth? Are you affected by this? And is it true, the midlife crisis only occurs from a career perspective?
I have 3 articles to share with you this week on exploring the myth that is “Midlife Crisis”.
Often, mental health issues are mistaken for a midlife crisis. This includes depression as well as dementia. This article will shed some light on the ongoing misdiagnosis as well as describing signs that are common amongst adults.
This experience does not only affect those questioning themselves in their career choices but hits somewhere close to home as well. Our aging parents, as well as our growing children, also plays a part in our peak years. From financial issues to time spent with them.
So to tackle the question at hand. Is midlife crisis a just a silly old myth like the Loch Ness Monster, or is it a real nightmare waiting for you right around the corner? Well, statistics from the Australian HILDA survey indeed shows that the lowest life satisfaction is around the age of 45. But does that mean anything? Find out more in this article.

As busy professionals, our schedules are often filled to the brim with meetings and tasks to complete. We can get so caught up with work that we might even forget our all-important lunch and power through dinner as well. Alas, we can only do so much given the 24 hours we have in a day. While time management is vital, being productive is another matter in its entirety.Enter time batching.
