A quick question, when was the last time you helped someone other than your own family members, friends, and co-workers? Well, this article might just be the thing you need. Volunteering is and has always been a goal anyone would like to achieve from time to time but let’s be honest, it can be quite a hassle, isn’t it? Unlike donating (monetary), volunteer work takes time and effort. And that is exactly what busy workers like us, do not have the privilege to spare. Our days are often too caught up with work and the remaining of our energy is very much spent with the things we love to do.

But did you know that by volunteering, there are so many benefits than we actually care to realize? Not only do we help those in need, but we are also actually helping ourselves in return. Tremendously! It is proven that volunteering makes you a lot happier and healthier. And from another perspective, it might even boost and advance your career!

A study by Cone Research found that 74% of employees find it more fulfilling and satisfying when they are given the opportunity to make an impact on others. Doing things together is definitely more engaging than helping others alone.

Volunteers Don’t Just Give, They Gain

We do not lose anything when we volunteer. Instead, there is so much to gain. The culture of volunteerism is still a matter we can gradually improve on. By educating the public and raising awareness that giving back to society is not as daunting of a task as many thinks. It does not have to be a huge contribution or a heroic deed. Just a little at a time makes this world a whole lot better, I say.
