International Labour Day Special

In Appreciation of Sheer Dedication and Hard work

Ah! The first of May is upon us again and that means, it’s International Labour Day! (also known as May Day or Workers Day in different parts of the world). Commemorated in most APAC countries as well as the rest of the globe, Labour Day is dedicated to reminding us of the blood, sweat, and tears workers have shown that not only helped boost the economy of respective countries, it also supports the building of the nation. Therefore, this day is memorialized to all of us.

But unlike the usual annual affair, this Labour Day is celebrated with a lot more meaning as compared to those of yesteryears. One that is filled with pure appreciation and a deeper understanding of every hard-working person around us.

Well, to start things off, the beginning of the new decade has been nothing short of trials and tribulation for many with all that’s been happening around us. But even then, workers from different backgrounds and all walks of life have not shown even a crack to their determination. Instead, we work even harder than ever before to think of ways to survive and excel in these trying times. That alone is to be cheered and applaud for.

Why Do We Celebrate Labour Day?

For many, Labour Day is just another holiday to catch up on rest and to spend precious time with our loved ones. But let me assure you, it is much deeper than that. Not wanting to go in-depth with the political matters in this topic, we should cherish this day just as much as we cherish every other holiday in our busy calendar because of the many things that make our workforce what it is today.

From better salaries with benefits to a healthy work-life balance with reasonable working hours, we owe it all to what went down in history and this day in particular. And believe me, when I say, we deserve every bit of it. Because, it is us, the workforce, that makes the working industry what it is today.

A Special Mention

Even though every worker is important in his or her rights, I would like to take time and dedicate a special mention to all the frontline healthcare workers out there. This year, Labour Day is a special one for them because not only have they worked extra tirelessly round the clock to save precious lives, they selflessly put themselves in the line of fire to fight the pandemic even if it meant putting their health at stake. Worst still, they go home to their families, always having the fear of “what if I made a mistake at work and brought the unpleasantness home?”. If that is not courage, I don’t know what is.

So thank you to all the front liners, we appreciate all that you have done for us. This Labour Day honour and commemoration belongs to you.

With that said, a huge salute and a standing ovation to each and every one of the working-class individuals out there. Just like a mega puzzle piece of humanity, a nation can never reach success without the priceless contribution of everyone.

Thus, in honour of your hard work and perseverance, cheers and may prosperity and better days await us in the near future.

We love what we do, feel the Timeo-Performance experience!

As busy professionals, our schedules are often filled to the brim with meetings and tasks to complete. We can get so caught up with work that we might even forget our all-important lunch and power through dinner as well. Alas, we can only do so much given the 24 hours we have in a day. While time management is vital, being productive is another matter in its entirety.Enter time batching.
