Being professionals in the working industry, it is almost a “need”, to want things to turn out successful and perfect every time. But perfect is a very strong word because our perception of success may vary from person to person. Sometimes we find ourselves questioning other’s ideals because to us, there are flaws and loopholes to their ideas when it does not resonate with our own. So, does this then mean we fall under the category of a perfectionist?
Wanting to perfect the things we do for ourselves, is a good way to gauge where we stand in our career as well as setting future milestones and benchmarks. But where do we cross the line of being a confident high achiever versus a perfectionist who put too much pressure on success? To the point where not only does it affect our self-esteem when things don’t go the way it was supposed to, it puts unnecessary pressure on our co-workers as well.
