Multiple studies confirm that the booster with the highest impact on team productivity, creativity and innovation is trust. Simple to fix? We wish. Building an environment in which all employees with varying personalities and cultural backgrounds feel safe to voice opinions and step outside comfort zones is not an easy task. The company and leadership culture play a pivotal role. According to a five-year-study, approximately 80 percent of the surveyed employees need to trust their leaders in order to do an effective job. This makes building and maintaining trust a fundamental part of today’s business success. Is this new? Hardly. Patrick Lencioni's study about “5 Dysfunctions of Teams” published in 2002 shows the Absence of Trust as the #1.
