Job Description

Our client, a leading luxury brand, global manufacturer and distributor of Luxury fashion, accessories and leather goods, is looking for a Talent & Development Manager, based in Hong Kong. You will be responsible for the Office and Retail Employees in North Asia and will manage a team of 2 Assistant Managers.

As a Human Resources & Development Manager, you will lead the talent acquisition and development strategy for the Office and Retail teams in the North Asia Zone. Reporting to Zone Head of HR, you will partner with Country Heads of HR and Function Heads to develop both internal and external strategies and practices to enable us to attract, develop and retain the highest calibre of employees for our business.

Main responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition
  • Develop and direct the implementation of sourcing strategies ensuring The Company recruits talented and high performing talents - in the most candidate centric, innovative and timely way.
  • Establish and maintain guidelines and practices of talent acquisition activities to ensure best in class candidate experience.
  • Develop digital talent acquisition tools e.g. LinkedIn and other social media platforms to reduce dependency on search firms and recruitment spend.
  • Source and develop collaborative partnerships with universities and other relevant organizations to feed talents pipeline.
  • Build and maintain a database of talents as a source of external pipeline and competitive data benchmarking.
  • Develop and support programs that infuse talent into the organization such as management trainees and interns.
  • Ensure quality mobilities through evaluation of candidates to meet position requirements and performance criteria.
Talent Development
  • Partner with Country HR Heads to ensure the identification, development and retention of key talents.
  • Develop and ensure robust succession planning of critical positions.
  • Establish and maintain guidelines and practices of development actions.
  • Track, follow up and evaluate development plans of key talents. 
  • Manage the annual Performance Review exercise and to review the process to ensure impactful conversations are held focusing on career development and performance enhancement.
  • Develop learning frameworks and programs to uplift individual and organizational capabilities.
  • Enrich and empower the HR network.
Internal Communications
  • Champion of the Employer Branding project and all related communication activities.
  • Design and execute compelling contents to transmit the vision and strategies of the Leadership at all levels.
  • Drive global projects across the Zone with local adaptation where necessary.
  • Design communication tools and contents to support HR projects.
  • Promote staff engagement and awareness throughout the employee life cycle.
  • Drive a more collaborative and entrepreneurial work culture.

Main requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, with minimum 8-10 years of talent acquisition and organizational development experience.
  • Proven track record in sourcing (internally and externally) and recruiting candidates
  • Knowledge of retail business (preferably high-end luxury goods)
  • Ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely in a variety of settings, adjusting the message to match the audience.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Judgment and mature business skills
  • Capacity to communicate and influence in a diplomatic way
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Social media practice
