Job Description

Our client produces and distributes dairy ingredients & finished dairy products in 120 countries, with close to 20 000 employees worldwide. In Singapore, Malaysia and Australia/New Zealand, the group has a presence through various dairy brands, mainly in the food service industry and is eager to expand fast in Retail/Modern trade distribution. Job overview: Based in Singapore, the Retail KAM will be responsible for implementing route to market changes, dealing directly with both distributors and retailers to deliver the sustainable growth targets of the company.  Reporting to the Country Manager and working as a member of a small cross-functional team, he/she will be responsible to drive the growth of Retail business across the Singaporean and Malaysian Retail Market. Main responsibilities: Responsible for the Retail in Malaysia & Singapore, throughout distributors or direct sales to retailers. Develop the correct go to market strategy. A key focus of the role will be to pioneer a different route to market for a new imported brand in Singapore. Responsible for the forecast (local sales and import). Working closely with back office to manage the logistic & invoicing. Developing and executing strategic customer business plan to ensure the delivery of financial goals such as company volume, net sales, share, margin and distribution objectives. Negotiating new products listing, trading terms, marketing budget with retailers. Analyzing the sales evolution vs. internal targets and identify new actions. Reporting customer sales evolution (revenue, expense and account profitability), news and updated KA plans when needed to meet the plan targets. Managing market intelligence through store visits on a regular basis identifying key actions after each visit and sharing the news with the rest of the team. Proactively seek ways of increasing sales and contribution through promotion and brand building activity – working as a team with customer.   Main requirements: Minimum of 7 years of experience in Retail Key Account Management. Former experience in category management and/or product management would be appreciated. Understand the difficulties of short shelf life/chilled products (experience in dairy will be a plus). Need to play with the mix of several brands, product categories and a good number of sku’s for each of these categories. Comfortable with forecasting, ordering, selling and following the import & distribution of products. Result oriented, entrepreneurial and organized. Business acumen & commercially aware of the decisions taken and the impact they could have on both customer and the company’s business. Ability to build and maintain solid partnerships externally and internally, winning trust and confidence. Ability to multi-task effectively and be able to change gears quickly without skipping a beat. Understanding of financials including trade spending and profit and loss statements. Work in a small organization/start-up profile within an international Group. Excellent communication skills in English (writing, listening and speaking) Mandarin is a plus. Professional attitude: you’ll be easily exposed to senior management, important to have excellent communication skills to deal with all kinds of stakeholders. Business savvy, opportunity seeker, team player. Microsoft Office proficiency level: Excel & Power point will be used daily. Possess an international outlook and mindset; overseas work or study experience is an advantage. Bachelor degree (preferable if Business Economics or Business Administration), Master degree in Sales or Sales and Marketing will be valuable.
